How does fiscal sponsorship work at the Philadelphia City Fund?

A fiscal sponsor is an IRS-designated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides fiduciary oversight, financial management, and other administrative services to help build the capacity of charitable projects. Fiscal sponsors accept the responsibility of managing public and charitable funds of partner organizations under their own tax-exempt umbrella.

The Philadelphia City Fund also provides capacity building for City departments and programs, including grant management services, fiscal reporting, technical assistance, and support in developing and leveraging strategic relationships.
